Dr. Joe K. Taylor - Senior Pastor:  Pastor Joe and his wife, Julie, and their children, Samuel, Luke, Hannah & Grace, have been at South Reno since December of 1993.  Pastor Joe has a Bachelor in Music Education from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas; a Master of Divinity Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas; a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California.  If you ask Joe, he says he has a wife that is “out of his league” and children that are “out of this world.”  Joe’s enthusiasm and “realness” is inspiring.  His preaching is balanced with both conviction and humor.  Pastor Joe always preaches the truth and demonstrates how practical and necessary the Word of God really is for daily living.  He always seeks to help every hearer understand God’s wonderful plan for his/her life.

algerMike and Anita Alger - Although Mike Alger is best known in the Truckee Meadoas Channel 2’s Chief Meteorologist, there is another side to this man. He and his wife, Anita, take great joy in using their musical talents to serve the Lord. Until recently, they carried on a ministry of encouragement to smaller churches in need of pulpit/music team relief. For several years they toured with the Christian contemporary band UNDIVIDED. As a team they served eight years as worship leaders for Reno Christian Fellowship’s Saturday Night Service and regularly led worship at RCF on Sunday mornings on a rotating basis. Both have a deep commitment to serving the community of Reno. Mike serves on the board of directors for the Animal Ark and the board for the Truckee Meadows Law Enforcement Chaplaincy and for many years served as Director for the Reno/Sparks Crisis Pregnancy Center. In 2005 he chaired the committee which brought the Luis Palau Festival to Reno. Married 25 years with two children, Mike and Anita’s lives are a reflection of a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ.
